Hey guys, interesting in buying a Ruger SR-22 but not sure if it takes special magazines or any 10/22 mags will do? also if anyone knows where to get straight magazines that would be a huge plus (I really don't like the curved ones).
Thanks for any input

I haven't come across any straight mags for the 10/22, all banana except for the stock ten round. The SR22 is pretty much a 10/22 from what I understand. Same action so should be able to use 25rd mags.

If I'm wrong someone will correct me.

You could probably save money and just get a regular 10/22 with the wood stock and buy an ATI stock with the pistol grip and adjustable/folding stock.

The SR-22 is a 10/22 in a Nordic Components chassis... All the internals are identical, you're just paying for the chassis, grip, stock, and handguard. However, if you're into that, it might be cheaper than modifying a stock 10/22, but it depends on what you want.

As for straight magazines... I think I've seen them around, but I can't remember if they were produced like that or if they were modified with a cover to make then look straight.

Thanks that helps a lot, I didn't know if it was a different gun or just the chassis

sr22=10/22 that has cosmetic resemblance to AR, but make no mistake, it is nothing like an AR, you cant use it to train as an AR because the controls are not the same

any mags that work with 10/22 work with sr22
