newb question

ok this is a question that i feel should have been asked at somepoint but in my infinite search attempts i have been unable to turn up an answer.

.303 british. is it enough for moose? and at what range i understand i will have to be closer then bigger cals but what would be the effective range for a boiler room shot with a standard hunting load? thanks

Yes, fine for moose. If your going for the vitals, its going to work for as far as you feel confident shooting. But know your limits, I personaly wouldnt go past 250yds with ANY gun.

keep shots to 200 meters or less with a 180 grain load and it will kill moose just fine

Guys have been doing it for many years. As said, keep the range within 200 yds. That should not be too hard with Mr Moose!

There may be more versatile choices out there, but dead is dead and the steaks taste the same!

plenty for moose within it's range. Great rifle to start hunting with.

Light recoil, hard hitter and reliable. Buy one for $200 anywhere and use it for the next 50 years..
