I am fairly new to shooting. My intentions in taking this sport are equally for hunting and for learning more general marksmanship.

As soon as I receive my PAL, which should happen in the next 2-3 weeks, I wish to buy a cheap shotgun, mainly to shoot clay pigeon, but also to hunt goose (I grew up in Nicolet) and maybe a .22 to practice marksmanship on the cheap. (and maybe move up to centerfire eventually)

I do have couples of questions,

Where are the good places to shop and buy new and, preferably, used firearms? I was kind of disappointed by my chat with a vendor at Dante, although I will probably try it in the future.

Is there any gun show or something like that in the Montreal Area?

What about gun clubs? I heard good things about L’acadie, but any other suggestion? Bonus points for pointing out the exact price (for membership and shooting session).

Also if you’re a good soul and are looking for some companionship on a trip to your range I (and possibly my PAL buddy) would be willing to go and take some notes.

Alternatively if you have a cheap .22 and/or 12ga you could peddle it to me.

Thanks
Etienne

P.s. J’ai écris ce message en anglais, qui semble être la langue universelle sur ce site (et que je maîtrise parfaitement) mais je suis d’abord francophone.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with Tactical Dan, it's pretty tough to beat the deals that you'll find here in the E.E. By buying from a private seller you'll save by not paying taxes as well.

well i belong to a indoor range on the island welcome to come just let me know. there is a show/sale coming up but there are some real decnt deal on the forum.
