Just passed the non and restricted tests today. Starting to look for a new hunting rifle for deer, big enough for moose. Im thinking a BLR .308. Any thoughts?

Always nice to have new folks around. A 308 BLR will do just fine, although a Marlin XL7 or Savage package rifle with scope will be a lot cheaper and probably more accurate. Check the Hunting and Sporting Rifles section and use the search function. Many threads about "first rifle" stuff.

Hi Mike, I'm new(ish) here myself. I've been shooting a while and have found .308's to be a great all around cartridge. I've never had a Marlin .308 but love their 1895's. Savage is also really good.
