Hi Everyone,

Would anyone be down to help out a newbie from the Toronto GTA area. Ive had my Pal/Rpal for alittle over a month now and im looking into buying my first firearm. In addition to that i haven't really had much experience around guns other then the training in the safety course. Im looking for a mentor who could possibly take me out to a range or just show me a thing or to for a beginner, haven't fired a gun before and im looking forward to learning more about this sport. my names kyle :) thanks for reading

Hi Letsgooshand,

Try Target Spprts Canada (http://www.targetsportscanada.com/). They have an indoor range which you can walk in and use their guns and range for a fee. This would be a great way for you to try out several different guns to see what you would possibly like. As far as your first gun is concerned, you should start out with a small caliber pistol such as a 22LR which is an easy inexpensive way to learn to shoot.

If you go to Target, check if they're running their basic handgun course. It's been a while, since they've been busy with range upgrades and change of shooting club, but they should be coming down the road soon-ish.
