Newbie here - Can't comment on some of threads

Hello,

I was just wondering about what I have to do to be able to comment on some of the threads.

For example, I was able to comment on a thread in pistol subforum (needed moderator approval before it showed but I was able to post it atleast. I am assuming requiring moderator approval will go away once my account matures)

But there are some threads were I can't even comment at all. For example the recent thread where folks are discussing the handgun import ban announced today. What do I need to do to be able to comment on such threads.

I think you need to go to your profile and join the "News Digest" group

I was also curious about how many posts I need to have before they will stop needing to be reviewed before posting...

You just gotta put in your time , read the instructions and join groups.
