I introduced myself earlier and am trying to gather information to try and list what I believe to be a circa 1885 British Blunderbuss. My question is the name Thom. Flather, London is on the bayonet and I am unsure if this is a manufacturer's name or the owner's name. I looked on the stock and around the lock but no other info in either place. Any help appreciated

Your best bet for gathering information from here, is to post detailed photos of the piece - the old "picture worth a thousand words" thing. Never seen a blunderbuss with a mounted bayonet - that's gotta' be rare. Good luck with it.

Not unusual for a blunderbuss to have a spring activated bayonet mounted on the top of the barrel, retained by a latch at the tang.
1885 is really unlikely - way later than most all blunderbusses were made.
Maker's names were usually on the top of the barrel and/or on the lock.
There should also be proof marks on the left rear of the barrel.
