Well I'm new to guns, i've only ever shot pellet guns before yesterday. Since then i'm extremely interested.

Story is I went up a mountain with my gf and her brother in-law to shoot his shot gun. Ended up shooting those clays. Out of the 20 he threw up i shot 18 of them. He was extremely impressed. Mind you i have a bruised up shoulder for being a first timer and shooting some deer slugs also... :p It was an old 12g and i also shot his .303 i think it was.

From here i'm wondering what would be some sort of first timer shot gun. Price and brands would be nice, looking to not spend very much. I'm getting my PAL soon hopefully, ive heard to go somewhere out in chilliwak?

i'm also wondering where i could go around the langley/surrey area to do any shooting.

Thanks and good to be on here for the info! (i tried apply like a month ago but my email was banned? wierd)

I can recomend some people in abby. Not sure who does it in langley, I'm sure if you ask around at the langley rod and gun club or langley gun and tackle they would be more than helpfull.. I would recomend the remington 870 12 guage pump action, it's a fun, versitile and relieble shot gun. I also heard good things about the mosseberg. and may I suggest you look into taking your restricted pal at the same time. That gets you into handguns and those scarry looking rifles :runaway: :D Good luck to ya

who and whats the problem? Is it a parent or girlfriend/wife ? Just remember you can't get new parents but you can get a new girlfriend/wife LOL. My wife said she didn't want any guns in the house. After I got my license and my first rifle she relized it's not a big deal. now I have 10. They are locked up and totally safe. most people it's the stereo type idea of guns that they are afraid of.

yea thats true, and it is the parents. is it a good idea to get some sort of gun safe when you first buy a gun? or just storing in a case is fine?

If it's a big issue, you can also take barrel off the shotgun while storing it which will make it inoperable and will save on storage space as well.

Basically, after you go shoot it, come home, disassemble, clean and store like that untill you go shooting again.

Hey 9ne, Im new to guns to.. been out shooting the past couple months and now Im looking to get my PAL to, theres a guy Im gonna go through, comes to a house or wherever and bring his guns, 2 nights for the course and it covers your restricted also.
