Newbie iron sight postal match.

OK, here be the rules:

Paper targets at 100M
Of 5 shots, the 4 best shots count

Open to any rifle type
Open to any calibre over 6mm
Open to any type of iron sights
Open to any non-clamping rests (bag, offhand, sticks, etc)
Open to any shooter with less than 6 months experience

Here is mine:

5 shots, .45/70 500gr GC home cast, H4198, WLR primers, Win brass.
The flyer was just off the paper, high and right.

Those are decent groups!! I'm just getting into a 444 marlin with the ghost ring setup. Where abouts do you live? I'm in calgary alberta. Next time i go shoot, I'll post pics. Not great (I mean REALLY not great) but so used to a scope. How do you like the 45/70?

Nice groups! I find iron sights and standing tough, I was shoot at fifty yards at cd's with a guys 45 colt and i tell you i couldnt hit #### with that rifle. In my defence the sights were out to the left and its hard to compensate with an oval fixed front sight. I believe Mr. Prop is from Ontariariario, and if I am not mistaken interested in flower arranging? Haha

Well went to the range and these are my groups! I told you "really not great"!

These were at 100yrds. They are actually improving!Of course, in my defence, it was standing shoots!

This would be a good time if the rules open up to allow for folks who've been at it awhile, I have a sneaking suspicion the cat from Fort Mac might put up quite a challenge with irons...

How about expanding this to 'limited' and 'open' divisions...
