Hi All,

I'm new to the whole shooting shebang and want to enter it slowly and on a tight budget.

A buddy has an NP34 I can buy and I was wondering if there is a recommended .22 conversion kit for this pistol? I searched but all I could find was one for an NP22 but it involved filing down something on the pistol.

Now the why ... I want to get my pistol shooting skills up to speed as cheaply as possible, hence the .22 conversion kit, and once I get comfortable, I'll be able to tackle some of the other handgun challenges as IPSIC (might have it wrong?) that require something larger than a .22. By that time I hopefully won't be needing to shoot as many rounds and quickly move up to 9mm in the pistol.

... and later, if I feel like it, I can buy an expensive 9mm ... ;-)

I think my plan would work, waddya thunk?

Thanks and take care!

Buy a good used Ruger MK 2 or 3, or something like that , any gun like that is way better than a conversion unit, and cheaper

Your other option would be to pick up for example a Sig in .22 and pick up a 9mm slide for it down the road, or perhaps a Glock 17/19 with an Advantage Arms kit with it, I have seen a few on the EE. I shoot a Glock 19 in competition, but I also have an Advantage Arms .22 upper on a separate G19 frame that I use for speed steel, so I'm shooting the same platform in different competitions, works well for me.

Here you go. There is a thread how to file 22 lr conversion
