newbie looking for advice on lever action .22

I am looking to purchase a lever action .22 for my son. He has is eye on the browning bl22. We looked at the Henry but were told it has some plastic internal parts. Marlin 39a is an option but were told quality has gone down.Any advice. Most of of these .22are all around 500 dollars. I am thinking maybe used is a better option.

I would go with the Browning if I were you.
I work for a major retail outfitter and by far we get the most returns on henry and marlin. Havn't had a bl22 come back though.

My wife has a BL.22 I bought her 30 years ago. Still going strong, still accurate, not a single problem in all that time. Still looks like new as well, excellent fit and finish. I would go with the Browning.
