Hi Guys
I'm starting to reload for my winchester 1886 in 45-90 and my dies don't crimp,I have a 2 die set ?.What can I use ,do or buy to crimp them after reloading. The bullet pushes down into the brass sometimes when in the mag tube or through feeding.
Thanks, Ed

May I please please ask who you bought a two die 45/anything set from, so I know who NOTto buy from..Your seating die should also crimp, but you'd be wise not to do in same step. What I mean is ,seat all your rounds to proper depth on cannelure, then back plunger off and lower die so it will crimp...Watch your loads with that gun. If its pre 1894 it wont have a nickle steel barrel. If thats the case your working pressures are sub 20,000 psi (If memory serves). You'll also have a slow twist wanting lighter bullets going as fast as that pressure will allow. If your post 1894,your pressures are considerably higher. I used to know exactly what but forget...Look up the serial # and find the date of manufacture....And PLEASE PLEASE, WHO sold you those dies?????????
