So I just bought myself a Norinco m4 and put complete Stag Arms lowers on it (better quality) and now I want to replace the upper with a stripped one from Arms East. On the site it says this

"ONLY FOR USE WITH BARRELS WITH A TRUE M4 BARREL EXTENSION. If you don't know if this applies, or have a barrel with other spec feedramps (not all "extended" feed ramps are actually true "in spec" M4 ramps),"

Which brings me to my question... does the Norc M4 have a "true in spec" M4 ramp?

M4 barrel + standard upper =works
Standard barrel + M4 upper =does not work
M4 barrel + M4 upper =works best

Why put a norinco barrel on a arms east upper????? whats the gain???? Buy the upper and wait out for a good barrel.

I'd like to know the reason for making the changes? Was the rifle not functioning? Wouldn't you have spent the same amount of money and put the same amount of work into simply building one right from scratch instead of ripping apart another rifle?

Some of the CQ556 have M4 barrel extensions, some have standard extensions.
I think (danger will robinson) all of the upper receivers are standard type (ie, no bevel).

BTW: I think we're out of the standard uppers, unless it was the OP who bought one yesterday. Lot's of M4 uppers, on sale for August. More standard uppers next week.

Lol this is the dumbest thing i've ever heard of. What's the point of buying a Norinco rifle if you replace both the upper and lower?

I needed a starting point and I didnt want to get a rifle that was done for me from the start, going a long, learning and what I like, I will pick up along the way. I prefer something custom. Good to know that your understanding of other peoples decisions rather then opening your mouth before you know...
