Hey everyone,

Was referred to this site from a few friends, as I've been doing a lot of research the past few days into a potential firearm purchase. I'm taking the CFSC this weekend, so I'll be in the market fairly soon.

Just a little bit about me, if any of it is relevant. I'm under 25 and a computer technician by trade. I consider myself an amateur historian, and hope to return to school one day to pursue that particular interest. This interest has always been closely tied in with interest in firearms and the military, and I will in fact be applying for the Canadian Forces in a few months (Infantry). I was also on my cadet rifle team, so I do have a basic first hand familiarity with shooting.

I've been looking at a few rifles over the past several months, however I'm having difficulty finding the balance I've been looking for. I'm hoping that's where you guys can help me out :)

Time to get started on the FAQ's !

You have a 900m range just around to corner. ncrra.globenetsolutions.com see any type of shooting there that peaks your interest?

I like the Service Rifle section, for obvious reasons. I find the Swiss section a little unusual...I didn't know there was enough of a Swiss community in Canada to have a specific club for Swiss shooters firing Swiss weapons. On that note, I have been looking at the K31 however I'm concerned over the availability and cost of surplus 7.5x55 G11 ammunition.
