Hi there.
I'm from southern Onario.

Grew up with guns in the house hold.

I've only been shooting pistols at our local range for a bit over a year now really enjoying that.
Own a Glock 17 gen 4,1911 Remington R1 enhanced and a 1911 Colt .22.

Also have a couple shot guns, enjoy shootin skeet/trap.

Not much of a hunter but want to get into hunting coyotes so I'm looking at buying a good rifle for that.

Hopeing to learn something here.

Cheers!

Hi Pete.

Welcome to CGN. I grew up in Southern Ontario as well. Plenty of yotes around there these days. You only need two things to get started (not including hunting license) - landowner permission and a bolt action rifle in 223 or 243 with a scope. I myself prefer the 243 as it doubles as a deer rifle and is also fun at the range as this caliber can reach out to some impressive distances quite accurately. You can't go wrong with a Savage, Remington or especially a Tikka. Lots of reasonable deals in the EE portion of CGN. As well some vendors out there have some great rifle/combo deals as that will get you out into the field for a lot less than you might expect.

Good luck.

I'll vote for a nice savage or a mossberg mvp if you can find one. I prefer the .223 simply because you can plink with it all year fairly inexpensive... Sponsored dealers have some good deals. Or as mentioned ^ lots of used rifles on the EE.

Welcome to CGN and good luck deciding .
