Hi all,

I have a very newbie question.

If I want to see how good grouping a rifle can get and eliminate human factor. I can think about two way to do it,

1, find a decent gun rest and then shot 3 times, each time the scope is aiming at the centre of bull's eye;
2, use a steel "fixture" to rigid lock the rifle at position and then shot 3 times, each time the scope is aiming at the centre of bull's eye.

Which one would have better grouping(not has to be at bull's eye, only compare grouping)? Basically it is compare the grouping of a gun sitting on a gun rest with completely bound the hand and foot of the rifle.

Option #2... take it to the next level, remove the stock and mount the receiver to a fixed chassis, turning it into a rail gun:
