I've checked out some ranges in my area, and I'm hoping for membership at one very close to home, particularly - Burlington RRC.

My only hesitation is that it's indoor.

I really like the idea of an outdoor range for those lovely summer days, and I've looked at a few in the Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo area that look pretty nice, but I really don't think I'm prepared to pay two sets of annual dues, particularly for a club which is out of the way.

I guess the question is; do some of these ranges allow non-members to come in and buy a day pass, or are they generally members only (as they mostly appear to be)

I guess my primary interest would be just the basic, say, 100 yd rifle range.

Ideally I'd have membership at the local indoor range, and travel out to outdoor ranges for a day pass when the weather permits.

Is this do-able?

you can get a day pass in silverdale gun club..check there site.

I was planning on joining Burlington RRC as well, however I was turned off by the wait time. I called in to make an appointment to take a safety orientation and was surprised to find out there was not one available until Oct/Nov (I called about a month ago). They only hold orientations at the last weekend of every month, they give you the option to show up on those times and take someone else's spot if there is a no show, but its a gamble.

I have then since joined Silverdale, they allow non-members to shoot, $20 day pass on weekends only. It is an outdoor range only.

Based on what you want, I would advise joining a indoor range, and head out to Silverdale Gun Club for when you want to shoot outdoors, its should not be far at all for you, 30 min drive I'm guessing, however you would only be able to go on weekends IIRC.

I live in Toronto. Is there anything you guys can recommend? Preferably something close. I am interested to shoot restricted.

I was going to joing Burlington, and was turned off by 2 things:
-The wait time
-They have very little time for handgun shooter, except overnight. But who is going to shoot overnight?? LOL

Anyone can recommend?
