Newbie Recommendation re holster, belt, mag holders

If my glock 17 g5 ever comes in I plan to take black badge training in August, with thoughts of eventual participation in IPSC. I will of course need to have proper equipment and wondering if anyone has recommendations for a belt, holster (glock17) and mag holders.

You'll get a bunch of different opinions here, and - essentially - the recommendations will be based upon some assumptions (such as what the poster might assume that you want the equipment to do well) which might or might not be correct.

Some people will want the highest-speed most-specialized (for IPSC) and most-expensive gear available. Others want versatility. And some want cheap.

Me, I'm going to suggest to you what I would buy myself, today, were I in your shoes.

For your Black Badge you'll want to have at least three magazine pouches and at least four magazines (although five or six would be better).

Thanks and yes I figure it will always be personal choice. I don’t mind buying decent even if it cost a bit more. If I fail to enjoy then it is always easier to sell. Initially I don’t think I am looking for speed, but more functional. This is a fast track to what I thought would be something I’d do over the coming couple years.

Double Alpha or DAA are very popular within IPSC.

I have the full DAA rig (belt / Alpha X holster / mag holders etc) and really like it.

I also use the same belt for 3 gun (just add shotgun caddies and rifle mag pouches) and its been great.
