Newbie SKS upgrades.

I really like the Russian SKS. I kept mine stock all but the sights. I changed them out to peep style, by tech sights. I'm shooting 1-1.5 MOA up to 150 meters pretty consistently with surplus ammo. This is bench rest shooting. I find the SKS to hold about the same level of accuracy and down range terminal velocity as my 30-30 winchester. Call it what you want, that's how mine is working and I'm pretty happy

Concur, I added the firing pin spring to shoot North American hunting ammo, the trigger spring just so I could tear the trigger apart and the tech sights, although I am now removing the tech sights for the fire sights so I can do field strips easily. I did everything else but hated it.
