Newbie stupid question maybe

Hi guys, apologize if my question is too stupid.

Just got my first new savage axis xp .223
I notice when store staff got me the rifle box, everything in the box is pretty new. The bolt is in a separate plastics bag. And I can see the bolt is in cocked status

So I assume it is like that from the day it left factory line.
The question is, does this long time cocked bolt good for the spring??? I mean if the gun stay in stock for a year or longer, will the spring loose its strength?

Thanks

Welcome to CGN. Spring will be fine. It's the continued compressing and releasing of a spring that weakens it, over time.

Welcome, and to add slightly more clarity, if the striker was not in the cocked position you could not insert the bolt into the receiver all the way the those little buggers are tight to #### outside of the action.
