Well, that was a lot of fun.
Received my ATT yesterday and took my brand new CZ75 in 9 mm. to the range today. Have never fired a pistol before.
Had the range to myself which was nice. Affixed the target, stood back about 16 or 17 feet and unloaded my very first mag. Wow. Did better than I expected. First shot was about 1/2 inch off at 11:00 o'clock. One shot was a "flyer" at 3 and 1/2 inches off at 12:00 o'clock. Except for one shot at 1 and 1/2 inches off at 1:00 o'clock, the rest were clumped about, anywhere from 1/4 inch off to 2 and 1/4 inches off, at 11:00 o'clock. I was so pleased I brought this target home. Its a keeper.
After that, I just experimented, shooting one-handed and from various distances. Found out that it is very hard to hit the target at 50 yards.
Recoil felt ok. Perhaps the heavier all steel gun is an advantage in this regard, but who knows. Certainly not me.
Got better at refilling mags as the morning wore on. Springy little bastards aren't they.
One think I noticed and this is my story so I am sticking to it: I was shooting under the bright sunshine and at times had some trouble picking up my sights. This is my excuse anyway. If any one has a better excuse, please let me know.
Anyway, had a good time. Look forward to going lots in the future.
