I'm hoping somone here can tell me the difference between a Remington 700, and a Remington 710. are they different beasts? or is the 710 like a "upgrade" from the 700? I've noticed that the 710 is often a few bucks cheaper too, is there a reason for this? thanks for any help in advance.

Cheers,

Avoid the 710 like a subpoena from a Turkish Court.......One look should tell you these are total crap....Kinda of like a diesel chevette...who would want one ?????????

You mean the "710" isn't 10 better than the "700"?

Yes it is, that's why I've taken it upon myself to get all those crappy 700s out of the gunsafes of the nation.
So for every Remington 700 you send me, I'll send back a Remington 710 in at least as good a condition !

Hurry!

Certain restrictions apply, only some calibres supplied, not valid where prohibited, must posses valid PAL to receive rifle, not valid in Nebraska, must answer timed skill testing question. Distributor's decision is final, all disputes adjudicated by Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, Myanmar.

710's are crap. Don't buy one if your life depends on it. I am serious. Do a search around here on them. These people are being sarcastic.

A 710 is a budget rifle for people with no clue on how crappy it is. If you want a cheap decent rifle atleast look at Savage or just get the Remington 700

thank you for the input everyone. It looks like the 710 has a pretty bad rep. I'll do some more searchs but I think I'll stick to the 700.

Cheers,

You'd have better luck beating whatever you're shooting at to death with the butt of the 710 than shooting it. Go handle a Remington M700 and M710 if you get the chance, and you'll see what we mean.

If you are looking for a bargain priced rifle with an excellent reputation, look at the Stevens 200. These are basicly Savage rifles without the accu-trigger.
