i'd like info about shotguns in general. i.m fairly new and don'T have a lot of knowledge aside military arms. so when i get my PAL i know i want a shotgun , ideally it would ba a M4 benelli but until i get the money i'm going to setlle for something less.

here's the question.

what would be a good shotgun for the beginner, price/reliability wise?

the only thing that i know i DON'T want is an hinge/break action shotgun, but aside of that i'm pretty open minded.

any suggestions?

Another vote for the 870.

Mossberg 500 3 barrel combo in camo. Comes with 26 turkey with fiber sights, 24 rifled slug cant. 28 waterfowl vent rib and 4 choke tubes. This should fill any need and cheap.

Remington 870 or Dominion Arms Grizzly gets my vote. I am not happy with my Mossberg 535. Mossberg 500 is ok for the price.
