Newcon Class 3B LAM 10D / Steiner eOptics DBAL-I2 / L3-Insight ATPIAL-C PEQ15

Looking for a Quality laser system. Kind of have it boiled down to these three listed in the title. Wondering if anyone has any experience with these products, pros/cons? Thanks

I have the PEQ15 in FDE on my MK18, pros its awesome, cons it cost an arm and a leg!

Ive looked at the Dbal haven't got to actually use one but its nice too, seems a little smaller or more compact

That they are.

My advice on IR is always go dimmer rather than brighter. You want to have a clean dot at 25-100 yards, not a fireball that casts bloom in a 3ft square.

Stronger lasers might be great for pointing out targets to dudes in the air, but on small arms they're a pain.

The PEQ and DBAL I've used were both good. I actually like the DBAL's housing, but the PEQ gets all the chicks (according to the internet)

Gratuitous NVG photo opportunity? Don't mind if I do. Took a CF buddy out to the Crowsnest range for an evening:

You can set the PEQ to point, light or light & point together. Most of those guys also run an IR flashlight independent of the PEQ. So you can search or light up with the IR flood from the flashlight and independently aim and shoot using the IR point.

Even with NV you still need to search (e.g. flood with IR light) unless you are strictly in light discipline mode (e.g. assuming opponent has NV). This being training we were trying all kinds of different techniques. The short video excludes much of what was done. Keep this in mind when you view abbreviated videos.

I have only being using the setup in light discipline mode. I have been thinking about replacing the 860 lumen PD35 with a Nitecore IR/white light flashlight.

The Gen 3+ is so much brighter than the Gen 1 that I don't feel the need for more IR light other than the illuminator on the PVS14 which I try not to use.

Passive rules and the PVS14 and LaserMax both have zero visible light signature when in use.

Not to hijack the thread, but what NOD did you end up getting? If I recall correctly you were looking into night vision a few months ago?

As for the OP, I would say get the DBAL. Though I'm sure the PEQ will serve you just as well.
