Looking for info on the newer made minis on the accuracy of them. Looking at the ranch, target and the tactical models. Any info would be a assist of the rifles

I bought a mini-14 ranch in 2015....shot alot better than I expected after reading threads on here. It wasn’t a tack driver by any means but I could hit gophers with it consistently out to 150-175 yds with a decent rest and I nailed a coyote with it one morning at about 100 - 110yds running wide open. It shot Hornady Steel Match 55gr hp quite well. Never measured the groups but 2” at 100 yds seemed to be the norm and I was running an Aimpoint PRO with zero magnification on it.

I have owned a couple of mini 14's and will never be with out one. They will out shoot me, all day long. Awesome gun. Most AR owners are jealous that they can't go on a walk about with their restricted runway model. I have shot snowshoe hares to white tail with mine and they have NEVER let me down.

My mini will hold about 2” for 5 shots with bulk fmj PMC bronze, I am running an aimpoint pro with one 30mm ring. I was getting failure to eject when I used the supplied Ruger picatiny rail. No more malfunctions now. This is a fun plinking rifle for me, I would not hesitate to hunt with it as well. Someday I’ll try some higher end amo.

I have an old Mini 14 from the mid 90's it will out shoot my Colt AR all day long, from what I hear the new Mini 14's are even better. non-restricted and very accurate rifle, who could want anything more.

Recently picked up an All Weather Mini Ranch in 6.8 SPC. For some reason I always wanted a Mini but had enough .223/5.56 rifles and the 7.62x39 was out of the question if I ever wanted to hunt with it due to stupid Southern Ontario caliber restrictions.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but if I can get 2 moa out of it I'll be happy. From anything I've seen about them it should be doable.

Time will tell.....

I have the newer 580 series Mini that I picked up "used" at the local shop. I love this rifle, its not bolt gun accurate but 2" at 100 is doable. I upgraded to a wolf spring, installed an accu-strut and trigger shoe, its one of my most reliable and fun guns to shoot. Many beavers and coyotes have fallen victim to the "mini" :)

I re-barreled mine to 6mmSPC and it shoots inside an inch for 5 shots at 100yrds. This is not typical but does show what can be done with some time and judicial loading. Quite a bit more thump than the .223.

Have a 583 series and its my favorite rifle reliable and decent accuracy. Stock rear sight is kinda cheap but can be used. I would upgrade the rear sight and try to find a wooden upper handguard to match with wood stock to give it a classic m14 look. I highly recommend this rifle.

My Target Mini is a MOA rifle with handloads...and more importantly, it's a 1.25MOA rifle with several decent factory loads. Another one owned by a friend produces similar...actually, slightly better :(...results.

A couple of standard model 58x-series guns (i.e. the new production Mini's, with the visibly tapered barrel and winged front sight) with which I have played are definite 2MOA shooters. I suspect that a bit of handloading or even factory load experimentation could improve on that somewhat. If I were in the market for one now I think I'd just get the standard one; it's much lighter and handier than the target version and gives up very little in practical accuracy.

Best all-around coyote guns on the market.:) I love 'em.

I have less experience with the Mini30; the one I have owned, a recently manufactured example, was good for about 2MOA with decent factory ammo, about the same with my indifferent-quality handloads. No idea what it would do with surplus, but apparently some of them shoot it reliably and some don't.
