Question Regarding the double roll pinned Breech block on older model sigs, and solid pin on newer models.
I don't know about you, but I personally cant stand the look of the roll pins on the older model Sigs and much prefer the solid pins on the newer guns.
I noticed that most of the Sig parts kits out there these days will come with a solid pin. Those of you with the older roll pinned slides, I was wondering if any of you have successfully replaced the roll pins with a solid one. If it is do-able, and if not, why?
I also read on Sig forums today that apparently, the newer Sig 229 to come out have spiral roll pins to replace the solid pins that are on the newer stainless slides
Their reasoning is simply because the solid pins were harder to remove, and apparently weaker.
Thanks.
