As mentioned in another post, I just bought an ARMS #38 which has a #40 built in.

I know the one apeture (the one that it deploys with) is meant for 250-300 yards (according to the ARMS website), and the other apeture is for 500-600 yards, but the question is:

What in the hell is the HORIZON line for, and how do you use it? Is it meant for use when NOT deployed (it's level with the top of the folded BUIS), or when you're using the 500-600 yard apeture, or what?

I can't find any documentation about the supposed use of this horizon line. I'm sure someone here can enlighten me? :)

Thanks!

Used to get a level horizon mark. It makes engagements out to max range (600m) easier than when using the small aperature which can cause tunneling through the hole. This sight would be good for a SPR when you take the optics off or they go down.
YMMV,

For longer ranges, use the half circle. It works just like a "V" notch and blade front sight would. Tip of front post level and in-line with the notch. For short ranges, 0-200m, use the ring aperature. Front post goes in the middle of the ring. Remember, as you line up the sights, look at the target then focus on the front sight. The rear aperature should blur and all you should see is the detail of the front post. The target should be blurred as well. Squeeze the trigger and watch the front sight in recoil. Realign and follow up if necessary. Sorry for the lesson, some times I can't help myself.
YMMV,
Hoddie.
