Finally got my new build finished.

Specs:
All smith work done by M. McPhee
Rem 700 Blueprinted
Action and portion of barrel bedded by myself
Krieger 17A 6.5mm chambered in 6.5-08 HABU (260 Rem) from Obtunded
Spiral barrel design done by myself and M. McPhee (I masked it, he blasted it)
Jewell HVR Trigger
Hi-Scor BR Follower and Farrell 20MOA Scope Rail from Mysticplayer (Glued in place)
Modified Henry Rempel fiberglass stock painted by myself. (Orange Kandy over Sterling Silver and Deltron Clearcoat) [Looks better in real life than in the pics]

I had it out in Saskatchewan a few weeks ago and it did alright at 600 and 800yds but did not do so well at 1000yds (the shooter may have had something to do with it as well)

Best group so far was 1/2" @ 200M but with low velocity (2880fps).

I am looking to get 2950fps with 142gr Sierra's to make it worthwhile over my 6BR's which are shooting in the 2930-2950fps range.

I had not done the modifications to the stock nor had I painted it when I took it to Sask.

Great looking rig. I think custom paint jobs are in your future :) I love CANDY PAINT. That clear coat is very wet.

Nice to hear that Henry also makes stocks. Look forward to seeing it in person.

The speed you are getting is actually fast for that case. SAAMI is around 2750fps with the 140's. I would expect to be around 2850fps with the type of loads/barrels we typically use.

That is why I went improved. A few more grains of H4831SC and a bit more speed. Starting work on a 28" Shilen in 260AI and will get a chrony in front of it when I find its load.

Even if you are "only" running sub 2900fps, if you push Bergers or Lapuas downrange, the increased BC over the normal 6mm bullets will still be substantial.

Let us know how the load development goes.

Yes...hence my bizarre "REAALLLLLLY?" when you said Pumpkin Orange. I already had the paint at home for it. LOL

BTW....your Psychedelic stock is also done. I can post pics here if you want to see it. It's ####IN' Saweeeeet!!!!
