Woohoo the transfer just finished up 5 minutes ago so she is in the mail on her way to my empty needy hands!!! lol. It has the USGI stock and a couple of 5/20 mags. Going to tear her down first and get acquainted with how to service her needs before I buy a crate of ammo and service mine. I am going to spend the next hour reading the stickies so I hopefully don't sound like a tool when I have a question. It has only had about 20 rounds through her and the pics show almost no signs of wear. I will be reloading so a couple of the posts here I am watching carefully. :50cal:

with that blown up m14 thread these are going to hit the EE market in any minute now!
but hey, :needPics:

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Burned by my favorite smiley. I will post the pics I was sent but I must give the owner credit for the photos and not let anyone assume these are my "intellectual" property.

Looks nice man!

I predict you will experience the following:

your M14 will reliably make holes in various objects at ranges from 5-500 meters that will make you think "OUCH!"

They are not bench rest rifles so there are more accurate sleds to own...they are not CQB carbines so there are lighter rifles to own. But they are rifles you can count on to put a lot of punch down range in a lot of conditions with minimal maintainence and after you own them for a while, and shoot them for a while, and get to know them, it's hard not to pick one up and look into the distance and think, "bring it on you sons of #####es!"

I don't know who it is I expect to come over the horizon but as long as I have my M14 they will wish they stayed over the horizon!

I already have a bipod and optic mount in mind but before I start ordering stuff I want to get my hands on it as well as read and get some opinions here from people that are in the know more than me.
THANKS!!!!!!!!

I don't have an M-14 (but I do have a mini-14). As with any rifle, the best way to get to know it, its' capabilities and inabilities is to shoot it with irons first. Not blasting away but settling upon a cartridge or brand, if you don't re-load, and doing some deliberate shooting at many different ranges to see where the rounds land.
After you know the girl better you can scope her.

Should I trade my CZ-858 for a M-14? Probably won't as I have too much ammunition for it. It is a laser out to 300.

Misanthropist, you have to expect a lot of men to come over the horizon after you if you look and dress like the girl in your avatar. I hope your girlie hands are able to load those mags quickly.

I don't look very much like her to be honest...she is about six inches shorter than me and about 80 pounds lighter, and her hands are girlier for sure. She does dress like that pretty much all the time, though, as a couple of guys here could tell you!

I'm okay with not looking like her though, even though if I did I would spend a lot of time watching us have ### in the mirror.
