Newfoundland Provincial Trap Championships

I am surprised that there is no new thread on this already!

My two boys and I attended this shoot in Marystown Newfoundland last weekend.

200 singles, 100 doubles and 100 handicap.

This was our first ever trap match and we were very well taken care of by the locals, even to the members lending us gear and guns so that we could shoot our rounds on the same squad. Thanks Peter and John!

Sandy and his club put on a great match and the new trap that was recently installed got thoroughly worked out.

What fine folks and fine shooting.

My boys took the sub junior and junior trophies home and they were lovely framed local prints. Very nicely done.

All in all a class act, and while this comes from a brand new trap shooter, please consider my thumbs up and check out the Atlantic Regionals Championships being held at the St John's Rod and Gun Club in Newfoundland on Labour day weekend.

V7, congratulations. I'll bet the boys were thrilled with their awards, and I'm sure you had a lot of fun yourself.

It makes me very happy whenever I hear of a new shooter entering competition. So many people seem to be intimidated by the thought of competing, when in fact it is largely a social event. There are categories for everyone, everyone goes home happy and you do improve your skills by competing.

If half of the people who own shotguns would come out and play once in a while it would be a booming sport. Again, I congratulate you and wish you all the best.
