Next match

Hmmmm for ORA, you will have to wait until the end of March or early April. We will be starting up then with one helluva busy season. Just ask my wife  about my schedule.... :ar15:

Connaught Service Rifle? Borden Service CQB? We got it all! That's the one nice (I'm a BC Boy stuck in Bantario) thing about living here in McSquintyland. :nest:

Cheers,
Barney

Do some of the Service CQB matches. It's a good time.

I'm hoping to maybe make a few more this coming year, but Borden is a pretty far drive....

cqb was a lot of fun, but I am really looking forward to the service match at connaught this year. Can't wait to test my new build out at 400m

I can't wait to try CQB this year. Got my equipment ready to go and have been practicing a bit, and best of all CFB Borden is only 45min away

See you all in the spring!!

we should set-up a winter shoot. test equpment and shooters in a real Canadian enviornment...:)

Oh, He11 yeah. I thought you ORA guys were well past that.

There is far too few that do it in YYC, but those that do enjoy it.

Hike through balls deep snow. Then setup. Then shoot. More fun when you are straining to keep the sweat out of your eyes, and breath from freezing on the scope.

Filip:

Too late to book the ranges (it's a complicated process that I don't wanna get into)! So shooting a CQB match or clinic hosted by Timk and myself is not happening until Spring 2011. All you CQB lovers can do right now in anticipation for the matches in Connaught or Borden is :

1) hit the gym
2) lube up your rifle and pistol
3) reload lots of ammo
4) organize your vest & kit for rapid reloads
5) boost your cardio by going snowshoeing (lots)
6) eat lots of fruits and veggies
7) work some extra shifts for more ammo $$
8) practice your mag changes (and then do it on the move; advance and fire and mag change)

There... that should get all of you pumped up. As for me... I'm heading out snowshoeing with my wife! :D

Cheers,
Barney

Winter shooting is indeed intriguing.

I did some long range shooting with my M14 in the end of the deer season. It was -7 degrees celsius and my rifle had serious frost all over it. I was able to get some great info on my rifle and shots in cold conditions. It would be great to do something similar in SM during the winter months. Could learn a heck of allot from it.
