Our next Service Rifle Match will be on August 10th starting at 12 noon. We will begin zeroing at 11am for those who need to.
The match will consist of 80 rounds, for those who wish to shoot both the 200 and 300m matches. Cost will be $ 5.00 per match for C.H.A.S members and non members will add an additional $ 20.00 for both matches for the required day pass.
The course of fire at both distances will be as follows:
10 rounds standing in 10 minutes,
10 rounds kneeling in 10 minutes,
10 rounds sitting in 1 minute,
10 rounds prone in 1 minute.
All positions begin standing, loaded at the ready, each position is adopted and timing starts on the command "FIRE". All relays require a reload, if you are using 10 round AR mags, you will load 2 and 8 rounds in your mags respectively, if 5 round mags then 5 rounds in each mag.
This is based on the NRA large bore match that was designed to use the M-1 Garand but has been adapted over the years so that any military rifle from any time period from any country may be used. Bolt action rifles are exempt from the magazine restrictions.
We have done this match in the past but only the 200m portion and with the new facility at C.H.A.S. we can have 8 shooters at the 200m targets and 8 shooters at the 300m targets, so basically 2 matches being shot at the same time.
