How long does it take to process an ATT for transporting a restricted pistol from your home to the post office after selling?
Here in NS from my limited experience, once the transfer has been approved, and the firearms office is open, it has been approvided as requested (within the hour).
I have been told this is not the case on the Rock. In fact, it may take a few days even if you are from St. Johns.
Reputable Newfoundlanders, please share your experience.

Well here in Alberta it only takes 3 to 5 minutes if you have a Fax machine they also send it through Email too if you give them your email address all you need is a printer youre all set to go. This way is only done if youre on the phone with the CFO of your province while checking for status of the transfer whether receiving or shipping out one straight forward... hope this helps..

Thanks Rick,
It does help a bit, but maybe the rules/services are different in Newfoudland? As a side note, I already checked out the sticky regarding ATT's and found no suitable info.
Regards,
John

Why don't you get right to the source? Monday morning call and ask:
Office of the Chief Firearms Officer
Suite E120, Prince Charles Building
120 Torbay Road
St. John’s, NL A1A 2G8
Tel: (709) 772-2876
Fax: (709) 772-3202

I've been off the rock 40 years but still miss it.

I have found the Nfld CFO to be very accommodating. I have had ATTs issued while I waited or faxed over to the gun store.

The CFO in NL is absolutely the best to deal with. My transfers have been approved within ONE day and ATTs are provided as fast as you can walk to a fax machine. Don't have access to a fax, you'll get it in the mail in one day. Can't imagine getting much better.

I have had them email me a copy, they are picky about the range membership, if it,s up they won't issue you an ATT until they have an up to date copy... Which is unfortunate since here on the west coast ranges are small and slow to get memberships out for the new year...

My experience earlier this week was exactly the same. Completed a purchase in St. John's and waited about 30-40 minutes for the ATT.

No complaints about the CFO on the rock processed my ATT within a couple of hours(including lunch hour), when my membership to gun club was expiring the next day. Thought I was going to have to wait till my new GC membership card showed up, but was pleasantly surprised when I got to take her home.

Same here. Absolutely great people to deal with, and always willing to help.
