Nickel Fouling?

Can't see that TBBC bullets have any nickel at all. Mfr. says guilding metal, which does not contain nickel.
The old cupro-nickel jackets had a horrible reputation for nickeling a bore. Strong ammonia or abrasive cleaners were used; sometimes bullets were treated with moly grease before firing to reduce nickeling. Ever see a .303 with a "silver" bullet? That's cupro-nickel.
Modern metal fouling is usually copper fouling. An ammoniated cleaner like Sweet's 7.62, or a mild abrasive like JB's or Remclean should work. So would electrolytic cleaning. The foaming cleaners advertised as being metal fouling removers would be worth trying.

Trophy Bonded Tipped bullets look awesome, I wish they'd offer them in a standard jacket (not nickel plated) as a component bullet

Interesting thread.

I would have recommended Sweets 7.62 but glad to learn Hoppes #9 worked. Noted. Thanks.
