Nickel Norc 1911, should I buy?

M-1911A1N-XL.jpg

Marstar is selling the nickel model for $399
from Marstar's website: "These were manufactured by Norinco for sale on the European market,
Marstar managed to get a small allocation from the producer."

Is there an extended slide release for sure? Seems like standard slide release at least. Is the safety standard, or ambi?

NELLY;
Nice to see smebody out there with all the facts, all the technical data etc.... Very positive indeed.

If you purchased a car and got a lemon, would you stop buying from that fir ?

BTW; why din't ou simply return it to the dealer for a refund or replacement ?
John

Nelly, I appreciate and respect your opinion on your experience with your Norinco, as well, I also value your, and other peoples experience with guns both positive and negative. Maybe you got a lemon, I don't know, but the general consensus is that the Norinco 1911 is a good product, at a great price, and there are a good number of satisfied people who own them. I'll have to side with Marstar on this, if you had a problem with your Nork, you should have contacted them. Sometimes WHERE you buy is more important than WHAT you buy. By contacting them, maybe you would had a replacement and been one of those happy 1911 owners. Give the dealer a chance to solve the problem, if any. I've had postive experiences with Marstar that gives me great confidence to buy from them. Example, I bought a rifle from Marstar that I was not quite satisfied with the condition, a quick call after opening the package and explaining my story. Without finishing my sentance, F###x, the saleperson said, "No Problem if your not happy for whatever reason, just pack it up and send it back" It's fantastic to see a company back it's products, I've had the same great experience with Wolverine, again, great service= satisfied customer.

I bought mine before Marstar was carrying theirs. The store I bought mine from had NO warranty on Norinco at the time.

Again, I accept that MANY people have had nothing but positive experiences with Norinco products. My experiences have NOT been positive, with the 4 Norcs I have owned or tried. The only one that was great, was my friend's 1991A1 that he had sunk $700 into AFTER purchase.

I just get a bit uppity when my EXPERIENCE with the product is called into question as heresay.

Again, I reiterate: My concern is for the purchaser, to make sure that they get a quality product, regardless of brand name (heck, I buy my jeans at cost co for $17?). I have not yet seen or handled a Norc that was reliable; all I hear is internet stories about how great they are.

If they are better now than they were several years ago, that's great. I will probably never buy a Hyundai, either, based on my experiences with them in the 1980's.

Cheers,

Neal

I don't even know Norinco started 1911 production in the 80's!

At that time Norinco was making SKS!

Of course they are making missile that can shot down satellite....
