I don't think that S&W ever made a stainless model 29. It's most likely nickel plated example. Stainless would be 629.

Ya im aware of that but there are pinned 629s out there, with a set of original grips would look pretty much like that one. Hickok45 has a video of one up, with a 4 inch barrel.
But I talked to the op gun is sold and im sure it was nickel, but the pics just didnt do it justice.
