hey everyone.

Just getting into reloading and am wondering what you all think of nickel plated brass? Any downfalls, or benefits (other than looks)?

Also, anyone know where to either order some online, or purchases in the Winnipeg area.

Thanks.

No downfall or advantages. Just shiny. Google is your friend as far as suppliers. The staples are WSS, SIR (Cabelas), Epps.....ad nauseum.

It doesn't last nearly as long as regular brass. I base this opinion on my experience reloading .40's. The necks start to crack after a few reloads. The brass stuff seems to last forever.

I find the exact opposite is true in harsh semis, like the m14. On these rifles, I find the body/head/neck gets so banged up that they are not good to use any longer. The nickle ones seem to last a bit longer though.

I've been checking WSS and Cabelas in Winnipeg here for the past few months. (about twice a month I'm there). They've never had it.

Guess google it is.

Check out Double Tap sports. I got my 10mm brass from them last year (Starline). Starline makes a hole slew of nickel plated brass.

Also try Double Tap ammo in the states. They have told me that they will ship the brass up to Canada and they always seem to have stock of the nickel plated brass as well.
