Started niece out on gophers..first day at that she shot 70+ of them...this hunting season she spent 3 days in huge winds and cold with no deer and no complaints...4th day different spot she spotted him first....a grunt after he passed behind a tree to stop him and the shot was off rifle is a 6mm rem on a Ruger #1 perfect double lung shot at 160 yrds

Right on ! What a great experience for a young kid. She must be a real trooper not to complain when there was no deer around.

AWESOME!!! Please congratulate the young lady!!! Really nice to see youth interested in the outdoor sports.

Cheers

She's lucky to have a great uncle like you to take her out and experience things that few other kids will. That's a great smile on her face. Nicer deer than I got, but I know just how she feels.

Deer license $40 +
Hunting equipment $500
Time spent with an Awesome Uncle "Priceless"

Awesome story, great deer, and very lucky girl to have an uncle take her out hunting. How old is she????

Cannot wait to have the chance to get a pic of my daughter when she old enough to shoot with a nice buck.

Good times!!!
Cheers

Awesome! Know lots of seasoned hunters that have never shot one like that. I'll be taking my 12 year old nephew on his 1st deer hunt this fall. Can't hardly wait, don't know who is more excited, him or me. Cheers.

Very awesome! Congrats to the beauty of sharing something so incredibly priceless: family spending time together, sharing in the experience of the hunt, and the general joy of being outside and part of the world of nature! I've been considering the same with my 2 nephews when they're old enough; they're still a few years off. Tell your niece we're jealous: I think she got a better deer than most of us have lately!LOL!

She's got a right to that smile; I'd be smiling too!

Thanks for all the fine comments will pass them on to her..she was 13 turned 14 Jan 1st...we tried last year but never worked out getting hunter safety course....this year her and 2 other nieces took the course together...I was not able to attend it apparently they all felt condescended to by instructors..all three felt kinda redeemed by her hunting season.
She was not 100% sure she would be able to kill a deer and I let her know right up till the point of firing she could change her mind....after 2 days of wind and cold she informed me that the decision was made and shooting was not going to be a problem at all.
One of the best comments from her was when I joked why do you always get the best spot to sit..."I'm the shooter"
