Hi there,
Wondering if it is worth it to buy the Night sights for the XD... I have used a Sig 226 with the night sights and it worked quite well, but is there and aftermarket alternativ or is it best to go with the More expensive gun that includes the Trijicon sights?

I've looked through Tijicon sights and although they were not attached to an XD I definitely thought that they were awesome! If that helps...

check out http://www.pistolgear.com/ for a variety of sights and other accessories available for the XD

They are out there, but if you can't see your sights, how can you see your target?:D That being said, I'd put a trintium one up front for close range work and leave it at that, if the target is so far that you have to line everything up in the dark you probably can't identify it properly and shouldn't be tossing bullets about. Just my .02$ They are nice to have but expensive, spend the money on more ammo!

Pistol gear won't ship to Canada, so they can suck my ass.

Spend your money through a Canadian dealer or buy your sights direct.

I put Dawson Precision F.O. sights on my XD by myself, and although it turned out ok in the end, I now wish I just sent it out to have them done.

Good luck.

The XD sights are the same as the Sig 226 and others, if that helps you in your search for a local distributor. XD-HS2000 store will ship to Canada according to the owner (I asked him on the XD site).

Yeah... I had a 226 with trijicon sights overseas and have done a lot of shooting with it, but in Canada, with our laws and such, when am I going to be in a low light situation?? I am all for LCF and just in case, but in reality, I am just eondering if it is worth the extra hundred.
Thanks for the reply's so far.

I beleive that the Sig 226 sights will work on the XD.I think that a buddy in the US did that.
Pete 31 if you have your 226 try it

Also handy for shooting in poorly or inadequately lit indoor ranges (BBRC, "the Bunker" come to mind) with older eyes. If you're on the traveling IPSC or PPC circuit, they could come in handy.
