Night sights

We had a lot of deer come to visit us at the hunt camp after legal shooting light. One night there were seven within 60 yards of the camp.
I figure they were laughing at our efforts.
One of the guys started playing with a deer call, and before long, the deer were jumping in the air, standing on their hind legs, and doing all kinds of other tricks.
Their response to the calls, was not really a keen interest, but it seemed to have a calming effect on them. We could shine lights right on them without them leaving even after quite a while.
It was fun to watch. There are apple trees in the field behind the camp, and good grazing.

I wonder if you are considered hunting if you are calling and lighting deer after dark?
Just a thought... but my guess is under the regs that this would be illegal.

I think as long as all firearms are unloaded and stored away, you would not be breaking any laws.

This is just my impression.

Here in NB, it is illegal, and very much so, to flash deer after dark.
