Night sites or weapon light?

Both? If it's in your home you'll want to positively identify that it is a zombie and not the family pet, plus the added benefit of blinding/disorientation.
Sights are a must for shot placement (pistol round over penetration is a serious risk).

light.

There are some amazing LED mount lights that are avalibale now that will blind someone and remove thier night vision giving the upper hand.

However I don't know if I'd want a mounted light. SureFire makes a wicked light the Executive Defender which would work well for most people, not to mention it's ridged bezel for striking 'Zombies'.

There are a few out there as well that have almost like a strobe function to it that will disorientate your friendly neighbourhood zombie. Check out the Night-Ops Gladius for more information, pricey but cool.

You will need both. A light to see the target and night sights to place your shot correctly - a light in front or beside the firearm will not illuminate the sights themselves.

Light and red lazer combo. Light blinds an opponent and the lazer scares the hell outta people, not to mention it allows you to "aim" without having to bother with a sight picture.

Neither. Keep your guns in your safe under multiple locks....

Having the cross and a bottle of sacred water will be sufficient.

Seriously, I think only night sights will do. It is your own house, you know where you are and what is around. Keep yourself in the shadow and place your hits into the right spots.

Both. If you can afford only one, get the light - you have to clearly identify your target, and you'll be able to see your sights just fine in the backlight of the target. The blinding effect works too.

Get the light. It blinds your zombie, gives you positive ID that it's a zombie and your sights show up fantastic.

I had a USP that setup worked great on. :D

And where might said light be now, NaOH? LOL

Perhaps it fits the rail adaptor that came with the USP I bought from you? haha

I have both. Green/Green Trijicon night sights and an x200B with a DG pressure switch on my USP...for zombies.
There is, however, some money tied up in that setup. If I had to choose one, I'd probably get night sights, as a good handheld surefire, like the E2D Defender (got one of them, too :)) could be picked up later for a fraction of the cost. I think it would compromise your grip on your handgun to be using both simultaneously, though.

wouldn't want to hijack but how does tritium and NVG work together? My guess is pretty well, one could mount UV light to crank it up...
stick to the shadows.

Um... I'm not sure if a white light would work well against a zombie. They don't feel pain, and thats what causes people to turn away from white light. As far as I know they mostly hunt through sound and smell.

One more vote for night sights. But thats only if my primary (AR-15), secondary (870P Max), thirdary (No.4 Mk1) and fourthary (vicious house cat) failed and I had to use my sidearm.

@Ice14

Up until I bought one, I never considered the deterrent factor of the bright light, was only thinking about using it to illuminate the zombie.

BTW, I think the words you're looking for are tertiary and quaternary but I think I'll add thirdary and fourthary to my daily lexicon... I won't be adding a cat though LOL
