Really, this question is strickly out of curiosity. Price not withstanding what type of night vision scope would you purchased or have and why?

Active IR has been the popular choice in Afghanistan (they tell me), because it's not limited to nights or building interiors etc where there's at least a bit of available light (as an amplification system 'Starlight'-type of system is). Active IR is fine if your enemy is resolutely living in the year 550 AD, but it could obviously go badly for you if the opposition has the same thing. Passive IR might be my choice, picks up warm things like those coming to kill you, but I know from personal experience that it can pretty much be foiled by insulated clothing.

I likes my toys and personally looked into IR scopes etc a while ago BTW: we're talking big big bucks for anything real. The belief is they want to reserve IR for "the authorities." I'll have to stick to my Surefires (which of course can be had in IR :( ).

Hi...Have a look at this free app that is being unveiled on 4 July for android : Vapir+ Reticle App...the camera can b bought online at the Thermapp online store. .then u need a OTG android phone. ..

If availability and price were no obstacle, AN/PSQ-20A coupled with a PEQ-15 sight. I have used a AN/PVS-14 with an Aimpoint Comp M4S, it was a little heavy but super reliable.

Newcon Optik NVS 27 with a hand select Photonis XR5 or iNTENS tube for the NV and a CTS-275XL for thermal with a 640x480 sensor. Would have one or the other parked in front of a March 3-24x52 Mil/Mil scope. You did say price was no problem, right? :d

Honestly, if export wasn't an issue I'd look at the Thermosight RS-64, or a TNVC D760, but of course neither of those are available in Canada.

Have you considered using a clip on system to add NV capability to a daytime sight? That way you don't change your zero, holdovers, or eye relief. I know GasCan on here had a CO-MR that I was pretty impressed with

Icedragonmx....any idea what those photonis tubed nvs 27s go for?...just curious because I think it's going to be a pile of $$$..

A Huge pile of $$$$$! I think one on E-Bay was in the 12k mark and the Thermal will be double that plus more! Quality cost! :( But no ITAR on those! :)
