Hello to all. Recently a friend asked me to inquire about availability of night vision scopes for a rifle. Now I realize I never seen one here in Ontario. Apparently he wants to buy one for his cousin overseas where night boar hunting is allowed. Can anyone help me with this with some useful info? I'm in sw ontario.

Try looking on Ebay. If not, do a google search for Canadian suppliers. I believe there's a company called "Owl" in the east end of Toronto that imports optics from Russia and they sell night vision equipment, but my information may be out of date. U.S. suppliers can't ship to Canada anymore, but you can buy from China or asia if you're willing to take a chance on quality. I forgot to mention Amazon as another source worth checking out. Check out Tactical Imports, I got my stuff from them, and the manufacturers are Canadian. What is the budget? If it is large enough I'd consider going with thermal vision instead of night vision. If you do that, I'd get the GCSCI stuff because you would want a decent refresh rate.
Depends, shooting at a range or anything of that sort, obviously there is one. Or if you are shooting from a tree stand or any downward angle, you can be certain of your back stop. However you would really like to be a lot more cautious about what shots you take, that is for sure.
