Whats a good night vision system that's available in Canada ?
Looking for goggles type, not for a riflescope.

NV gear is not cheap for quality stuff.

Not sure how much to spend, don't need top of the line but don't want to have to buy it twice, thinking between $500-$1000.00

500-1000 is still in the range of Gen 1. Gen 1 units are often useless unless accompanied by an IR Illuminator. Even then the range, picture clarity, and usefulness of the device will be limited and have you questioning your investment.

If you look around, you can get a really good deal on a Gen 2 unit at time, or even some Gen 2+ Units which preform almost as well as US Gen 3. These range from 1500 to 2000 for a decent Gen 2. For one of those really good Gen 2+ units, you will be paying 2500-4000, or possibly higher... But you'd be crazy to break that price mark.

You can get gen 2 in a monocular for $1500. Its a huge improvement

It's generally not worth spending money on Gen1... Gen2 may be twice as much to start, but the quality is tenfold better.

Apparently you can make some cheap active NVGs. Primary red, congo blue photo gels, clear glasses, IR LED light bulbs + batteries. The IR LEDs are the hardest to find. Source carries remote control ir leds for like 7$ per 1 not even sure those work. I guess you could make em for under 30$ if you buy cheaply online. Ill make a pair one of these days. Haha
