NightForce Direct Mount rings??

I have a NF direct mount for my Rem 5R. I haven't mounted it yet because I want to send the rifle off for colouring and possibly for barrel threading.

I googled for the desired height and found that medium height works for 56mm.

To me it makes sense to use the direct mount as it removes one mechanical connection and I don't plan on removing the scope once the rifle is completed.
 
Thanks thats kinda what I was thinking aswell trying to see if I can shave any weight for a sheep hunt those steel rails are pretty heavy. Now just if my Nightforce scope could go on a diet.
