Nightforce New Distributor

Just a heads up that, starting July 01 this year , Nightforce optics will be distributed in Canada through a third party. Dealers will no longer be direct. We are not sure yet what this will add to pricing, if anything, but they most certainly won't be going down in price with and extra markup included.

First glimpses of prices are up on the distributors website if you want to take a look. Have a box of tissues nearby.
On 7-35 F1 ATACR's the new cost is higher than current MAPP price on several models of ATACR's. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the year prices are up $1000-1500 for the F1's.

We just received a list from them too. Going to go through it ASAP.

Who is the new distributor?

Very curious to see how this move plays out for them...
NF has always been great to the CAD market in terms of their quality and pricing.
There is a reason they sell so well, If it goes in terms of Leupold mark 5 pricing, sales wont be there.
Sorry to say but disappointed they went this way. easier for them I get it, but extra costs will hurt them.
there is a massive reason price to scope why the 2.5-20x50 does so well.
just my 2 cents
Cheers and thanks as always! Love shopping at prophet! Clay and the team always treat me well!

Contact your Rep there. Any dealer who was direct, will have almost the exact same pricing. Some items might be up a few dollars and some might be down a few.

Plus no shipping or brokerage costs and easier to purchase say, 1 mount if a client needs it.

Gravel Agencies. They have been great to us, so, not a complaint about them. NF decided they wanted to distribute rather than deal direct. Likely because of the new export rules. Still, adds an extra layer to get from manufacture to end users

Just wondering what are the "new" export rules? are they requiring an "end user certificate" etc? I thought the "new" rules were around high speed cameras & other "nuclear" technology? Isn't Canada in Group A?

The USis getting “fussy” about exporting quality glass

Hmmm, it was my understanding that riflescopes were completely removed from ITAR jurisdiction? and scopes under the USML CAT XII were only scopes specifically designed for the military end user?
So the Nightforce ATACR was specifically designed for the military? Good to know.

There will be more dealers carrying Nightforce. There was fairly big barrier becoming a dealer before, you needed an initial order of $35,000 usd to become a dealer and carry all their lines.

Always wanted an ATACR and remember when they were priced around the $3k mark (ah the good ol’ days) however could never justify the purchase given how the competition stacked up. Given how far north the price has gone I have lost interest. Still a good scope, that’s not disputable.

Good point Griffin, however not sure if that's yet a good thing or not. There were before quite a few great dealers.
It does open it up so i get what you mean, But if extra cost is involved 2nd or 3rd party... yeah count the sales out.
Canadians are truly tired of getting hit with the "gouge" costs, and I get it the dealers we love and have held strong should make some good money selling them.
Leopold with their tariff or export to Canada BS is what it is... utter BS
when you can find a mark 5 hd 3.6-18 sates side for 1500 usd which is 2054 cad. even with modest export and taxes there's no damn way that's 3300 Canadian less tax.

sorry Just being frustrated as Ive always thought wow apples to apples minus dollar exchange, NF has had Canadas market priced damn well on par with US.
So Im pessimistic in this sense with a extra party involved.
