I decided to finally give the NF NX8 a try!
Was hesitant for a while, as there are many tight eyebox claims going around.
Just sighted it in and have a bit of feedback concerning it.
For having previously owned 2x NXSs and currently own 1x ATACR, this NX8 and 1x SHV, I got a good feel and knowledge of the NF lineup.
I can compare it directly to an NXS.
It's got the same tube dia, the same glass clarity, and pretty much the same weight and feel.
Also has pretty much the same price as a new NXS. I paid 300$ more but decided to go tremor3 reticle hence the price increase.
With this in mind, I find the NX8 to be a much better deal than the NXS in my case.
If I compare it to the NXS 5-22x50 I just sold to buy this one... NX8 4-32x50
Good changes are, NX8 comes with a power throw lever, TT flip caps, FFP reticle option, the ocular glass does not rotate when zooming in/out (very handy as flip covers turn around otherwise).
Neutral changes (to me) are, capped windage with fully dialable turret under, Digilum style illumination.
The only bad change I can think of it's that it came without a sunshade, other than this minor detail this scope ain't giving anything up to the NXS in any way, as far as 20 rounds down range go.
As for the tight eyebox, it's only tight on max zoom.
If I dial it to 22x, it's got the same exact eyebox as my previous 5-22x50 NXS.
I can go to 24x comfortably, at 32x it doesn't give you any second chances as far as cheekrest placement goes.
I couldn't see this dialed over 24x in an action shooting environment.
