I am putting together an old man hunting rifle and am looking for an appropriate scope. My hunting rifle for the last 15 years has been a Remington AWR with a Swarovski 3-12 FFP scope (no longer made). My new rifle is a 7.25lb 300 WinMag. Shooting long range with high end (Kahles,Tangent Theta) has spoiled me a bit. I am looking for a big game scope 2-15 power range, objective 44mm or less to allow low mounting. It needs to be sturdy (baggage handles, bottom of the gear pile in bush planes, horses, clumsy arthritic old guy crashing through the bush. My Swarovski has handled this, holds zero for 15 years . New Swarovski scopes just don't move me. I don't do Vortex on seriou rifles because, shall we say,of religious beliefs (don't trust 'em). I am down to Leupold and NightForce( Trijicon&Burris not considered because I am not sure of quality/durability), Burris. Anybody using NightForce for their biggame rifle? Up to 22oz weight is acceptable.
