NightForce Scopes for Big Game rifle??

I am putting together an old man hunting rifle and am looking for an appropriate scope.My hunting rifle for the last 15 years has been a Remington AWR with a Swarovski 3-12 FFP scope (no longer made). My new rifle is a 7.25lb 300 WinMag. Shooting long range with high end (Kahles,Tangent Theta) has spoiled me a bit. I am looking for a big game scope 2-15 power range, objective 44mm or less to allow low mounting. It needs to be sturdy (baggage handles, bottom of the gear pile in bush planes,horses, clumsy arthritic old guy crashing through the bush. My Swarovski has handled this, holds zero for 15 years . New Swarovski scopes just don't move me. I don't do Vortex on seriou rifles because, shall we say,of religious beliefs (don't trust 'em). I am down to Leupold and NightForce( Trijicon&Burris not considered because I am not sure of quality/durability), Burris. Anybody using NightForce for their biggame rifle? Up to 22oz weight is acceptable.

Your experienced thoughts would be appreciated.

I have the 2.5-10x42 c458 (moar reticle) and the 2.5-10x32 c472 and they are both excellent scopes. 20 and 19 ounces. I prefer the c472 as it has the velocity 600 reticle and the illumination is just more simple. (unfortunately it is discontinued) Compare them to Leupold 3.5-10x40 at 13.5 ounces. ( I also have that and it is very nice too).
I haven't torture tested any of them, I take good care of my equipment, but side by side comparison, the Nightforce feel and look much more heavy duty and just overall better quality.

I think trijicon would be a pretty safe bet. You don't ever hear anyone comment on their lack of durability/quality, quite the opposite actually.
 
Trijicon or Nightforce. Check out the drop tests on Rokslide, Leupolds fail consistently (sometimes inducing POI shift after a car ride) whereas SWFA, Trijicon, and Nightforce pass consistently. If you want tough as nails, it's those three with a few Minox or Maven scopes in there for good measure.

The 2.5-10x42mm NXS will go on my new .375 H&H Mag, no question.
 
I have two CA mesa long range rifles one in 6.5 PR and 1 in 7mm PR I use both of them for long range shooting as well as hunting and they both wear nightforce NX 8 - 2.5 - 20 x 50mm scopes they are great for hunting as well as long range work.

Are your Nightforce first or second focal plane, considering one and definitely need the 2.5x more then the 20x,
How’s it in dark timber at 2.5x
 
The Nightforce SHV line is directed at hunters and they have many configurations in FFP and second focal plane.
