Hey guys. Recently purchased a savage 110ba I am looking for a scope and wanted some input on these two scopes

Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 F1
Vs
zeiss victory diavari 6-24x56

The zeiss was a really clear glass.
I will be doing long distance shooting for 90% of the time

Thoughts?

NXS 5.5-22. The Diavari is beautiful optically, but the NF suits the personality of the rifle much better, and has a solid reputation for being tough as nails.

Hmm, thoughts?

Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

As already noted previously the Zeiss you described is not that well suited to your rifle as it is substantially more money than the rifle and likely not the best fit. The Nightforce would be at the top of the list if $ still are not a concern but there are excellent optics available for much less $ that might better fit with your rifle like Leupold, Nikon, Vortex, Bushnell, Burris or even lesser Zeiss models. Phil.

Nightforce for tactical style shooting, Zeiss for hunting situations. I have a Zeiss on my 7mm Mag hunting rifle for shorter range deer, and a Vortex AMG on my 22-250 which is more of a longer range coyote rifle.

People constantly get #### on for cheap optics. OP wants to go top end and gets slagged for it? Lots of rifle snobs around who can't outshoot their gear. That's why pro level shooters regularly embarrass the well off who think they can buy their way to the podium. With careful hand loading and proper technique that rifle should shoot under .75 MOA. My generic 116 in 30-06 even does sometimes. I know it's said in jest, but it gets tiresome to those of us who are regularly told our bank account balance determines whether or not we are worthy of mocking.

thanks for standing up for me but honestly people like above poster isn't worth our time. Trolls like that should keep their thoughts to themselves as they are honestly bored in life trolling forums to post stupid things and not be helpful

The NF will do what you want it to do and at less cost.

As a side note, I guess I should be mocked as well, I just put a Trijicon MRO on my 10/22... It was that or the ACOG TA33.

Well I can get a zeiss discard for 2k where at the nf will cost 2800

Really depends on the type of shooting you intend to do and which optic offers the reticle and other features you're after. List them out and the optic with more checks than the other would be your winner.

I have a NXS 3.5-15 on a TRG-22 that I shot regularly out to 600m with the occasional shoot at 800-900m
For close in on movers the 3.5 power is great. While the 15 power is totally do-able, at 800-900m sometimes I wished it was wearing my 5.5-22 NXS.
Ymmv.

It would be an easy choice for me , the zeiss for $800 less ! I think you would like the higher mag for long range also especially with the zeiss glass quality

Same here. I'll take the Zeiss glass either way. Looking through Zeiss Victory glass is like walking out of a smoky bar and breathing in cold mountain air.

I find myself in exactly the same situation with my 308.

Don't dismiss the Shv line. Same glass, just not as tough.
I don't use my scope to hammer in nails, my stiletto does that. So instead of mounting my hammer to my m1a, i mounted a Nf shv 3-10.
Beautiful....
