I would like to say thanks to Gary and all the folks at Wanstall for all the work they did in getting my pistol made and into Canada. Not to mention putting up with the never ending emails from me. I would recommend Wanstall to any one looking for a custom built 1911. Be prepared for the great customer service. Of all the firearm related stores I have delt with over the years I was suprised when I delt with Wanstall and was not forgotten about as soon as they recieved my money, instead they welcomed my inquiries and responded quickly.
Now for my opinion of my new nighthawk aac pistol. Be prepared for comparisons to wilson combat since that is one of the other major custom 1911 makers and I own two of them. The fit and finish is awsome, comparable to a wilson combat. The trigger is an absalute dream, around 3.5 -4 lbs. In my opinion nicer than both of my wilsons. The grips being slim line aluminium are perfect. It shoots like a laser. As for my dis likes, It would have been nice to see the recoil spring plug checkered. The end of the slide stop should have been rounded to make reassembly easier (mine is going to a machinist ). I would recommend a nighthawk to anyone looking for a custom 1911.
